Refresh Retreat: Support & Respite Program for Carers & People Living with Dementia

BaptistCare program providing carers with knowledge and practical strategies that may be helpful when caring for someone living with dementia at home, (either a co-residing carer or one residing at a separate address). People living with dementia are offered an introduction to respite while carers participate in the education and wellbeing program. The Retreat runs over 3 days and 2 nights and includes meals and accommodation. It operates at several locations in NSW.
People with Younger Onset Dementia (under 65 years) are eligible – with a scheduled Refresh Retreat in June, in Cronulla.

Aspect (Autism Spectrum Australia) Therapy Mobile Service

Aspect Therapy is a mobile service providing Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, and Positive Behaviour Support in participants’ home, school, community location, or via telehealth. It supports autistic children and adults across the lifespan. NDIS funds can be used to access the service.

Hoyts Cinemas Carers Concession

Hoyts Cinemas has an agreement with Carers Australia to offer discounts to carers who attend movie sessions with the person they care for. Carers must show a state or territory Carers Association card or any other card with government-recognised carer identification, such as a Healthcare Card or Centrelink Pension Card.
