National Sign Language Program (NSLP)

Administered by Deaf Connect, NSLP is available to Deaf, Deafblind and hard of hearing older people without a National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) plan, who are 65 years and older (50 years and older for Aboriginal and / or Torres Strait Islander peoples). It offers interpreting and captioning for interaction with aged care services, medical appointments, and social and professional settings. Organisations are eligible to use the NSLP if they provide aged care services.

Cerebral Palsy Alliance Reduced Wait Times (Penshurst)

Cerebral Palsy Alliance Penshurst have reduced wait times for patients being discharged by the health system and National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) participants. Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Speech Pathology, and Exercise Physiologist all have immediate capacity. Services include functional assessments, assistive technology assessments, swallowing and mealtime assessments, VitalStim, casting / splinting, goal directed training and body weight supported treadmill training.

Youth Mental Health First Aid Course (Menai & Miranda)

Project Youth Youth Mental Health First Aid Course teaches participants how to provide initial support to a young person (12-18 years old) who may be experiencing a mental health problem or mental health crisis, until professional help is received, or the crisis resolves. Participants must be over the age of 18.

Free Vaccinations for the Aboriginal Community (Jannali)

Kurranulla Aboriginal Corporation and South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) are offering free vaccinations for Aboriginal Elders, Aunties, Uncles, and adults, including pregnant women. Available vaccines: shingles, COVID, pneumococcal (pneumonia), vaccines for pregnant women to protect both mother and baby, and influenza (flu jab – available from April). Walk-ins welcome. No Medicare card required.
